Point Volunteer Victoria Shadle represented House of the Roses at the National Dance Education Organization's Annual Conference. The 2016 NDEO conference theme was "Speaking with Our Feet," and presenters shared ways to advocate for, analyze, and advance dance education in our schools, communities, states, and nations. Victoria presented her undergraduate honor's thesis on the state of Irish Dance in America and its impact on immigrant families who’ve studied the dance form. Her research investigated both the role Irish Dance plays in Irish-American families and communities and how it can be further supported and advocated for by wider populations.
