LOGAN ROQUEMORE PHOTOGRAPHY

We are always looking for new volunteer Teaching Artists who have a passion for dance and working with children!  Every week, you will see the kids take steps big and small, towards creative freedom and expression. You will also receive monthly training in dance and teaching techniques from our staff and guest artists. You will be in the company of other committed, energetic and talented dancers who all want to make a positive impact on children's lives.

Being a HOTR volunteer Teaching Artist requires...

  • Once a week participation in a teaching team at our dance and movement workshops from October through May (generally three to four hours including travel)

  • One to two monthly training and dance rehearsals from October through May with the entire HOTR volunteer team

  • A love of dance. Note that no formal dance training is required, and our volunteers represent a wide array of backgrounds and skill levels.

  • A positive attitude and a willingness to have a ton of fun!

Join us in sharing your love of dance with some wonderful young dancers!  In addition to weekly teaching roles, we have many volunteer opportunities - help out with fundraising or administration or volunteer with the kids at performances!

For more information on volunteering, please contact Lauren Humm Fakete at info@houseoftheroses.org

In your email, please let us know how you learned about HOTR.  Also, please indicate what volunteering role you might be interested in--volunteer Teaching Artist, fundraising, behind-the-scenes, helping out with performances, etc. We look forward to hearing from you!

Time Commitment

Each volunteer is asked to commit to at least one semester, but ideally the full school-year, since she/he will be assigned to one center over the school year.  The weekly time commitment is 3-4 hrs for the weekly workshops (including travel time), plus up to two monthly training/rehearsal sessions on the weekends.

How Do I Get Involved?

Thank you for your interest and we look forward to meeting you!  Open rehearsals, which serve as our auditions, are held twice per year: once in September and once in January, to coincide with the start of each semester. However, we do make exceptions to invite new volunteers at other times whenever we can. Please email Lauren Humm Fakete at info@houseoftheroses.org to get involved!
